WheelieSafe Pty Ltd is an independent product development enterprise specialising in waste and recycled materials handling. The WheelieSafe Wheelie Bin Trolley is an Australian invention, created by Tasmanian entrepreneur and inventor, Brian Stafford.
Brian realised that whilst wheelie bins have multiplied exponentially across Australia, they are not always easy to move around. Just about everyone now uses a wheelie bin, from homeowners to commercial businesses and industrial complexes. Yet these bins have not evolved to meet these growing needs and are still causing problems for many people.
What’s the problem with wheelie bins?
While the bins themselves function perfectly well, Brian identified two major problems with their operation.
The first problem was that they can be difficult to move when fully laden, particularly on steep driveways, with both the elderly and disabled struggling to move them even on flat gradients.
The second problem was that when you have multiple bins, moving them individually takes time and can result in injuries if performed frequently. This is the issue faced by many commercial and industrial businesses, as well as other organisations. These companies not only lose time moving single bins but are faced with potential OH&S issues from prolonged operation, unsafe handling and repetitive actions.
Our wheelie bin trolleys make moving bins effortless
The WheelieSafe Wheelie Bin Trolley allows for safer and quicker handling of one or more wheelie bins in residential, commercial and industrial situations. The trolley allows bin sizes from 120L to 360L to be moved around easily when fully laden, even on steep gradients and by those who struggle to move their bins, such as the elderly and disabled. You can even safely move up to four empty or lightly laden wheelie bins at one time.
It took three years of design development to create the WheelieSafe system. Hobart based Industrial Designers INNOVATAS were commissioned to develop the design of the trolley system and source a cost effective manufacturer. The result is a unique product that provides the solution that many Australians have been needing for many years.
